Westminster has the second-highest unemployment rate in London. More than 41% of children in Westminster live in poverty. Westminster Chapel's on-site Trussell Trust network Foodbank provides three days’-worth of nutritionally balanced (non-perishable) food to residents in the Borough of Westminster experiencing financial crisis.

Food is donated by church members and local people (e.g., schools, businesses and charities) and stored. Volunteers sort and pack the food into food parcels. Westminster Chapel partner with front-line care professionals, who identify people in crisis and issue them with a voucher. On receiving a referral, a member of the team will call the client or a representative to arrange a collection date and time, and check for any special dietary needs.

On arrival at the Foodbank centre, people will be checked in, receive a warm welcome, and their food parcel. If appropriate, they will also be put in touch with agencies that may be able to provide further assistance.
